Project Downforce is DTO Motorsport’s two-day Formula car programme, centred around the opportunity to drive a 2011 Marussia Formula One car – genuine Grand Prix machinery from the pinnacle of motorsport.
This is not a demonstration run. It is not a static display. It is a fully engineered and professionally delivered Formula car experience operated by a race team that competes each season.
At its core sits a Marussia Formula One chassis, re-engineered by TDF One to enhance driveability and reliability while preserving the technical intensity and performance expected of a Grand Prix car.
A structured pathway to Formula One
Project Downforce is built around progression. Drivers do not step directly into an F1 car. They work towards it.
Day One focuses on advanced single-seater development, typically beginning in high-performance Dallara machinery. Technique is refined. Data is analysed. Physical and mental preparation is sharpened.
Day Two builds towards the ultimate objective – stepping into the Marussia Formula One car under the guidance of engineers and professional driver coaches. Every element is structured to ensure confidence, control and performance at a level rarely experienced outside elite motorsport.
The sensation of downforce, braking force and acceleration is immediate and uncompromising.
The engineering
Two 2011 Marussia Formula One cars, both professionally maintained and operated from Silverstone.
Through the re-engineering work carried out by TDF One, the cars have been developed to deliver a controlled and authentic Formula One driving experience. The modifications improve reliability and usability while retaining the raw aerodynamic grip, braking force and precision that define Grand Prix machinery.
